What is there to see in Winter at Ashcombe Maze? Winter is a special time for Ashcombe Maze. The roses finish flowering and are pruned some time in July. The autumn leaves cover the ground - making crunchy noises as you walk through them. More than a million Bluebells start to poke thier heads through in the lower woodland. The conifers and special evergreen trees - like Californian Redwoods - are showcased amidst the bare branches of the elms oaks and alders. The winter flowering lavender is out in the Pot Garden and the late harvest olives are in season. Hearty soup is a specialty on the menu in our cafe. |
